A portable lamp designed to meet with the contemporary needs, provides both ambient light and direct light to work as a patio/ bedside lamp or a reading lamp. It was one of the fruitful results of the collaboration with Schatti Leuchten, a Swiss lighting brand and metal fabricator. It was further awarded in the LAMP COMPETITION 2022 as the overall winner of the student category.
Material & Production
It was designed with the idea that being able to be produced by cutting and bending sheet and profile metal, which minimize the tooling cost, and present the preciseness and flexibility inherent in the material and technology.
Reference
What could be the quality that make a battery lamp versatile in domestic use? I started with looking toward the historic precedents in which light distribution of light had been designed thriftily and smartly.
It can provides both ambient light and direct light. Users can switch between by redirecting the light. It features with a handbag-liked frame and a horizontal bridge where integrates most technical parts. The versatility and portability allows the lamp to be the real companion anytime, anywhere.
